COVID-19 premium for Brussels enterprises engaging in internationalisation

Under certain conditions, companies may qualify for a subsidy to help with costs for business-related travel abroad or participation in foreign trade fairs that cannot be recuperated due to the coronavirus.

COVID-19 premium for Brussels enterprises engaging in internationalisation

Eligibility for this subsidy is subject to the following cumulative requirements:

  • The applicant is a sole trader or SME- The applicant has registered offices in the Brussels Capital Region and conducts economic activities there- The applicant is active in one of several well-defined sectors
  • Over the course of three financial years, the applicant did not receive ‘de minimis’ support exceeding EUR 200,000
  • The expenses relate to preparations for or participation in a trade fair or commercial prospecting abroad
  • The expenses were incurred prior to 19 March 2020

The subsidy will be equal in amount to the sunk costs, with a maximum of EUR 2,500. To be considered for this premium, applicants must submit the provided application form to bhandelcovid@gob.brussels.
