Flemish Minister-President Jan Jambon announced in a press conference this afternoon that there will be a one-off grant of 3,000 euros for companies that did not have to close down, but did see a serious decline in their turnover in the period from mid-March to the end of April.
Anyone who demonstrates that their turnover in this period is at least 60 percent lower than last year would be entitled to this grant. Companies in the entertainment sector, physiotherapists, dentists and painters, among others, could be eligible for this compensation grant.
The grant would also apply to those who work in a secondary occupation and pay social security contributions in the same way as someone with a main occupation. For those who do not pay social security contributions, this would be a grant of 1,500 euros, insofar as they are employed less than 80 percent in their main occupation.
It was stated that the compensation grant could be applied for by making an application at VLAIO (the Flanders Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurs). Nothing else is known about the specific timing or modalities.
