The Hertog Jan Restaurant Group is the gastronomic success story of chef Gert De Mangeleer and host Joachim Boudens. Besides the two Michelin-starred Hertog Jan restaurant in Antwerp, they also welcome guests in Bar Bulot (Zedelgem and Antwerp), L.E.S.S. Eatery (Bruges) and Babu (Ghent). With their restaurants, Gert and Joachim aim to provide a high-end and extraordinary experience, while furthermore performing the role of employer and talent developer. The transition to Vandelanotte Payroll means they found peace of mind in their payroll process.

Letters Hertog Jan

The hospitality industry is one that poses a range of challenges; certainly when it comes to work planning, schedules and wage processing. “We first and foremost rely on Vandelanotte for processing our wages, but that’s not the only thing we have them take care of”, Joachim explains. “For instance, in one of our restaurants we have a highly specific system regarding the work schedule. Vandelanotte was able to offer us a solution for this that’s both creative and legally correct.”

We’ve noticed that Vandelanotte also thinks about things we hadn’t even considered. This then eventually leads to an advancement throughout our whole business operation. Joachim Boudens , Hertog Jan Restaurant Group

Vandelanotte knows better than anyone else that each sector has its own specific requirements. Our strength lies in knowing what those requirements are, while simultaneously seeing the bigger picture. At Vandelanotte, we don’t operate as a classic social secretariat service, but true experts in payroll and HR. Joachim agrees. “Vandelanotte listen to the specific questions we ask. They provide input on solutions and sometimes bring up things we ourselves had never thought about. This means our business operation as a whole advances.”
