Starting January 1, 2025, employees will fully transition to the digital control card for temporary unemployment, marking the complete end of the paper version. This shift offers numerous benefits.
Reduced administration: No more need for distributing paper forms, as everything is handled digitally.
No validation book: Employers are no longer required to fill in the validation book.
Faster payments: With just one click, the card is sent to the payment institution.
Easy corrections: Errors can be corrected effortlessly, without administrative hassle.
Permanently accessible: The card cannot be lost and can always be reviewed.
Employees can already voluntarily switch to the electronic control card with the employer’s agreement.
To allow everyone to adapt from 1 January 2025, employers and employees can request exceptions until 30 June 2025. This may be necessary if digitization requires more preparation time or to address potential electronic issues.
Sheltered workshops, social workshops, and customized companies can continue to choose between a paper or digital card.
Ensure agreement between employer and employee.
The employee downloads the eC32 application or completes the card via the Social Security website.
Log in using an eID or itsme. Cross-border workers can schedule an appointment at the RVA office to obtain a digital key.
The employee chooses when to start using the digital card: either from the current or the following month.
From that moment on, only the digital control card will be filled out.
